About the Company

McCormick and Winter is a comprehensive web design and development firm based in Truckee, California.  We specialize in building elegant, highly flexible multimedia websites that are both intuitive to use and easy to maintain.  Of course, you don’t have to take our word for it; we think our work pretty much speaks for itself.

Justin Winter, CEO 

Justin Winter has been programming for over 15 years, starting with Pascal and Basic in high school and moving to ADA and Java in college.  After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Plattsburgh State University, he primarily worked toward honing his Linux, Apache MYSQL, and PHP (LAMP) skills.  For the past seven years, he has focused almost entirely on the LAMP web server environment, Flash and, more recently, the Drupal framework.

Justin was also an enlisted member of the 109th Airlift Wing for the United States Air National Guard in Scotia, New York, as a professional photographer for eight years. He graduated with honors from the Defense Photography School in Pensacola, Florida and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sgt. in 2002.

Justin likes to spend his free time outdoors alpine skiing, snowboarding, biking, hiking, and generally exploring the world with his beautiful wife.

Susan McCormick, President

Born in New York, Susan graduated from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire’s Green Mountains. She moved to Truckee, California in 2000 and spent three years as the Managing Editor and Webmaster of Couloir Magazine, a backcountry ski and snowboarding publication.

When she’s not behind the computer, she’s usually skiing or spending time outside. The Internet, writing and skiing are integral parts of Susan's life, so copywriting, journalism and website development are passions as well as parts of a career.
